Friends
The Friends of the Merchant's House are a large and committed group who have chosen to support the work of the Trust. They demonstrate local recognition of the project as well as appreciation of its larger significance, particularly to grant-giving bodies.
The group’s existence also gives encouragement to the many volunteers who offer their time and energy to the work of the Trust.
Furthermore, the subscriptions Friends pay and the support they give to events are a valuable source of financial help.
Friends are entitled to:
- free admission to the House at any time it is open to the public
- a free copy of the Journal
- a free copy of the regular Newsletter
- access to the Trust's library and archive
- attendance on trips and visits arranged exclusively for Friends
- a discount on tickets for events organised by the Trust
- Friends shopping evening in the Trust shop at discounted prices
Current membership costs are £14 per individual and £21 for a couple.
