To avoid disappointment, we encourage you to book your guided tour before you travel. Please see 
for times and availability. 

We are experiencing a shortage of volunteer guides and are implementing a reduced number of tours. Therefore, unless a tour is shown, it is unlikely that there will be a guide available.

How to find us

Marlborough is 75 miles from London and 30 miles from Bath.

From London take M4, leave at junction 14, take A4 for Marlborough

From the West take M4, leave at junction 15, take A 346 for Marlborough

The Merchant's House is on the North Side of the High Street approximately 100 yards from the Town Hall.

Entrance to the Tour starting point is through the double green doors to the right of the shop, and then follow the signposts to where your guide will be waiting for you. 

Access Information 

The Merchant's House has uneven floors, low ceilings and steps leading from room to room. The stairs on the main staircase are shallow but eneven. 

A stairlift is available fom the ground floor to the first floor which allows access to the principal rooms. Ramps are available on site for wheelchair access on the ground floor. Please note - many of the door frames are narrow and the floors are uneven. Please telephone before you visit if you require additional information about access to The Merchant's House, the museum and the shop.
